“Naive” art and painting are by definition does it non professionals : craftsmen with fertile imagination, autodidacts and “spare-time painters”. Wilhelm Ude, one of the discoverers of naive painting in France could qualify artists such as Henri Rousseau, Séraphine Louis, Louis Vivin, Camille Bombois, Domenica-Paul Peyronnet, Rene Rimbert, Adolf Dietrich or Andre Bauchant of “painters of the crowned heart”, expression which it opposes to that “popular Masters of reality”. Indeed these artists are often far away from the real bus the naive artist create before very for itself and express without compromise its realistic or poetic vision and its personal phantasms.The naïve art especially took its rise since the beginning of the XXe century.
