Bartolomé Esteban
Murillo : The Young Beggar.
All the career of Murillo (1618-1682) proceeds in Seville, put aside a short stay in Madrid in 1658.
Its style is influenced by the austerity of the tenebrism, it paints with realism and a sometimes sentimental narratif taste. In that it announces Goya… The young beggar is one of his first scenes of kind. This covered popular subject of a thick and rich key, the interest carried to the light, the coloured and restricted range make that this work is regarded as capital with regard to realism in Seville.
It will cause the admiration of the French painters Courbet, Manet and Cézanne at the 19th
century.
